The topic of making money online can be such a broad and expansive topic that it often renders information useless to upcoming entrepreneurs or those who’ve recently started their own business. My channel usually discusses more specific and detailed subjects to avoid the tendency to confuse people new to business with overgeneralized terms. I don’t usually field general questions like “how to make money quickly”, but I believe I have some very useful and practical information to discuss with you today on this area of entrepreneurship – you won’t be disappointed.

So, first, why do I call it a general question? Well, if you think about it, making money online is basically the same thing as making money in general. You start a business as a freelanacer or an entrepreneur, you generate content and customers, and you perform hard daily tasks to reach milestones and personally set goals. Ultimately, whether online or purely in face-to-face business, you want to create a product of lasting value and leave a memorable impression on your customers. You have to deliver real value, and just like interpersonal business, you have to maintain an excellent relationship with your customers.

If you want to build that kind of company in the online world, then you've come to the right place because this is the exact kind of work that I know how to do. It's the most exciting and interesting business, and it’s on the cutting edge. It's also one of the hardest types of work you can do as well, however. Consider how these days, just because everyone wants to make money online. If you consider that 80-90% business fail in the first place, and then add all of the unregistered companies popping up on the internet, that percentage is even higher.

Why is this? I believe it's because most people treat it flippantly saying, "How do I make a quick buck? How do I make money fast online with no worries? How do I just hack the system and fool everyone into giving up the dough without giving out my ethics or personal beliefs?" This is not the way to do it. This is not the way to look back and feel like you've done something you're proud of. This is not what you're going to look back  20 years from now and feel like you really handed things and give people. This is not going to get you your testimonials from proud customers who stick by you through all manner of financial troubles. If you focus more on taking value than giving it, usually your business doesn’t last longer than a couple of years.

Also consider creating multiple income streams for yourself and emphasizing your personal finance skills. Find a way to work on your own personal financial independence, and you will not rely so much on taking from others, but can enjoy the feelings of giving since your own house is in order.

You need to make a business that's based communications with your customer. Utilize referrals, search for positive testimonials, and give them what they want and deserve - not just what you want to do. This especially true if you're good at something that's marketable and practical in the real world. Now, of course, there are topics like philosophy, self-improvement, and travel that are kind of intangible and esoteric. Plenty of people create businesses around subjects of this nature and are very successful, but it's definitely harder. If you want to create a passion business like that, you'll have to do a lot more work and really get in the mud as they say.

My clients and I create businesses based on long-term success. This is how we work: we create content that delivers our best stuff, the best stuff you can give away for free, put it on YouTube, and use social media, social circles, business contacts, whatever we have to generate an audience. We attract as small crowd of people that really have our attention. We learn from our mistakes, and educate ourselves on how to create content that real people are willing to pay real money for. This is real business with a positive edge to it.

You can already apply this if you already have a business. Let's say you have a business where you're working in sales or direct marketing and you want to leverage this knowledge of value-giving to create more content and get more sales. What you want to do to accomplish this is to take all of your knowledge you've gained from your current business and discuss it in videos on a YouTube channel. This is very counterintuitive. If you think about it, a lot of people do this in fitness and other small niches, but many industries do not utilize this skill. Where is the super popular channel about sales? Where is the super popular channel about niches that aren’t as “sexy” or “hot” on the scene right now? There's still a lot of opportunity out there. You can still start generating traffic and an audience and sell.

What it comes down to is a lot of marketers are simply afraid to create a company where they have to put work into every single sale. This is a topic I really like because automation business is really awesome, I get it. But please consider this: what converts better? If you create a sales letter, even a really good one to the right traffic that gives you a 5-10% conversion rate, OR you can get people on a call and convert 65%. I think the choice is clear.

So whether you’re considering creating a business or expanding your already successful company, put your focus on giving rather than taking, talking directly with your customers (regardless if you’re online or not), and making the world a better place, rather than just filling your pockets a bit more.
